ABOUT ME:
I approach therapy with a community centered, intersectional approach to all aspects of the therapeutic process. I value and believe in the power of story and how the stories we tell ourselves, hear from those around us, and learn from society, profoundly impact our sense of self. I believe that fostering hope and community is crucial to healing, I strive to create an environment of warmth and validation.
My clinical emphasis was in Marriage and Family Therapy. I utilize a strength-based, holistic approach, incorporating Narrative and Relational Therapy modalities. My background with the LGBTQIA+ community allows me to connect with individuals and relationships struggling with gender and sexuality development, cultural and environmental stress, lack of support from family of origin, as well as the many faces of trauma. I am committed to diversity, multicultural competence, social advocacy, and community engagement.
I am a sexuality and gender identity affirming, sex-positive, kink/BDSM/Leather fluent, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamorous friendly therapist. I work with individuals navigating gender and sexuality identity exploration, polyamory dynamics and common struggles, sexual trauma – including religious trauma, domestic violence and assault, and family of origin trauma. I also work with anxiety, depression, grief, HIV+ status, ADHD, suicidality, and milestone transitions. I work with couples around family of origin conflict, communication struggles, parenting, navigating polyamory and kink, as well as role changes including those related to disability and chronic pain.
