my approach:

I take a collaborative and client-centered approach to goal setting, ensuring that each client’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges are at the core of our work. During the initial sessions, I conduct a thorough assessment to understand the client’s history, current struggles, and personal aspirations. Together, we establish clear, realistic, and meaningful goals that align with their values and desired outcomes. By maintaining open communication and fostering self-awareness, I empower clients to recognize their progress, celebrate successes, and navigate setbacks with resilience. My goal is to create a supportive environment where clients feel motivated and equipped to make lasting positive changes.

thoughts for new clients:

"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination." – Carl Rogers Our initial sessions are all about getting to know you—no pressure, no expectations, just a space where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. We’ll start by talking about what brings you in, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and any concerns or questions you might have. I’ll also ask about your background, daily life, and any challenges you’ve been facing, but again, this is at your pace. Think of it as a conversation. I want to understand what’s been going on for you so we can start figuring out what support looks like moving forward. We’ll also talk about goals—whether you have specific ones in mind or you’re just trying to figure things out.

ABOUT ME:

I am a dedicated mental health professional and educator with over 25 years of combined experience. Holding master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health and Special Education, I specialize in assessing Cognitive Delay, Learning Disabilities (CD/LD), ADHD, and Autism in both children and adults. I am committed to providing expert care as a licensed professional counselor and National Board-Certified Counselor (NBCC).

Currently, I am a PsyD doctoral candidate set to graduate in 2025. I combine my expertise in education and mental health to support teens and adults facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health challenges. My passion lies in empowering individuals to build resilience and self-awareness. With extensive experience in diagnostic testing, treatment planning, and crisis intervention, I offer compassionate, personalized care.

I am deeply committed to bridging the gap between education and mental health, striving to foster growth and positive change in every client I serve.
