ABOUT ME:
Therapy is an opportunity to grow in your strength and skills, to develop yourself, and to make changes aligned with your values and goals. The spark of therapy comes in connecting to the wisdom and strength in you, and in the connection we make together. When we work together, we figure out what works best for you, and how to develop the best in you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago. My background is with community mental health and community-based services for people facing mental health concerns, trauma, and disability. I have worked with adolescents, adults, parents and families in Chicago for over 15 years.
I work especially with adolescents and young adults, and parents and caregivers, on challenges including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, life stressors, and identity development. I prioritize relationship in therapy, and I have a warm, interactive style. I also use a very practical mix of approaches to build skills, problem-solve and target root problems. I value empathy, humor, harm reduction and authenticity.
I bring my full self as a social worker, a partner in a biracial family, and a parent to children who are LGBTQ and disabled. I am committed to an anti-racist and culturally humble practice. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity and disability justice oriented.
