my approach:

Therapy shouldn't feel like a formal interrogation. I strive to bring warmth and ease into our sessions, fostering a conversational atmosphere where you don't have to watch your words. Being authentic is key to our work together, and I encourage clients to express themselves freely, expletives and all. My approach is grounded in non-judgment and empathy. There's no need to worry about censoring yourself with me – I'm here to listen, support, and guide you through whatever challenges you're facing.

thoughts for new clients:

Anyone can benefit from therapy – it's just about finding the right therapist for you. Think of our first meeting as YOU interviewing me and ensuring we're the right fit. I also encourage you to keep an open mind and give us a few sessions to try and connect. Sometimes the comfiest shirt is the one you've washed a few times!

ABOUT ME:

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults, and I'm passionate about building therapeutic relationships that empower my clients to explore, grow, and heal. I want us to explore what works best for you and your needs together. During treatment, we'll remain flexible in experimenting together on approaches that best set you up for success. As a queer and trans therapist myself, I bring a deep understanding of the unique challenges, joys, and complexities that can come with navigating identity, relationships, and the world at large.

My journey to becoming a therapist has been deeply influenced by my own experiences as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I understand firsthand the importance of having a safe and affirming space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment or discrimination.

I received my master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2024, with a focus on LGBTQ+ mental health, group work, and mental health work with adolescents. Outside of the office, I spend a lot of time creating digital art, writing an excessive amount of fiction, and pretending to be a standup comedian for an audience of 3 (my pets). My dream is to learn how to juggle.
