my approach:

By building mutual respect and a foundation of trust, my goal is to ensure you feel seen, known, and accepted in a non-judgmental environment that supports self-exploration. I’m drawn to psychodynamic and narrative therapy techniques, as I believe many symptoms of depression, anxiety, and fear stem from our relationships with family, friends, and community. Narrative therapy leverages the power of stories and its collaborative, respectful, strength-based approach, making it a valuable tool for those seeking positive changes in their lives.

ABOUT ME:

As a social work intern with over 20 years of experience as a yoga instructor, I have a deep respect for the mind-body connection and a strong commitment to promoting a holistic approach to therapy. Stress reduction techniques and emotional regulation skills are powerful tools for managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. My background in yoga has also shaped an approach that helps clients feel more present and centered, particularly in understanding the connection between physical sensations and mental states, which is crucial in treating issues like trauma and anxiety.

In my personal life, I am committed to creating a more just and equitable world through personal interactions, community involvement, and political action by recognizing our cultural stories, particularly those of the LGBT+ community, can be used to dispossess and malign but can also be used to empower and humanize.
