ABOUT ME:
I am a graduate of the Jane Addams School of Social Work and Dominican University’s School of Social Work. My experience includes work in community, crisis and hospital settings with vulnerable populations such as young people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, those experiencing homelessness & poverty, and those who have experienced violence & trauma.
My work is influenced by intersectional gender dynamics, racial trauma, navigating oppressive systems, relational/cultural modalities, attachment theory/EFT, Gottman and the process oriented somatic complex trauma modality of NARM(Neuroaffective Relational Model).
I see therapy as a space to explore who you are, were and want to be. Change and growth can be scary & difficult but also beautiful & freeing, and my hope is to help you move through that process in the way that works best for you. Working toward a greater insight and awareness of our experiences can help us to embrace and enhance connection to ourselves and others.
My focus is on providing culturally & racially conscious therapy services using the social work adage of beginning where my client is. I see my role as being present with my clients as they face and navigate the grey areas of life, while increasing agency, sense of self, and healthy coping skills. I learn from my clients as much as they learn from me, and I consider it an honor and privilege to be a part of your change process.
I work with adolescents, adults and couples virtually & in person in IL and virtually in Iowa.
