ABOUT ME:
Lorilei graduated from University of Iowa with her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2017. Her experience prior to clinical practice includes community mental health services, serving those experiencing chronic mental illness. She has had extensive experience serving people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, having provided services for several years to immigrant and refugee populations. Her professional experiences also include providing services to survivors of sexual and physical trauma, survivors of human trafficking, and individuals with substance use disorder. Lorilei is especially passionate about LGBTQIA+ needs and services. She provides support group services for family members whose children identify as transgender as well as for transgender teens. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy which includes a variety of modalities and approaches. She specializes in attachment, trauma, LGBTQIA+ services, and provides individual, couple’s and family services. Lorilei enjoys working with all types of families, including those in polyamorous and non-traditional relationships. Lorilei is available to provide public education on LGBTQIA services, as well as strategies to create culturally-appropriate services within agencies and medical facilities.
