ABOUT ME:
Hello everyone! I'm Gwen (she/her), a Licensed Social Worker hailing from Chicago. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in mental health from Loyola University Chicago. I'm truly honored that you've chosen to embark on your healing journey with me.
I employ a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique needs and assessment, ensuring that our time together is marked by accountability, collaboration, and authenticity. Rest assured, I'll be straightforward with you, and I encourage you to be open and real with me too.
My profound passion lies in amplifying the voices of female-identified individuals and fostering unity between Black cisgender women and those of trans experience. I specialize in areas such as personal growth and self-esteem, managing anxiety and depression disorders, and addressing health concerns specific to female-identified individuals.
In the ongoing effort to combat the stigma around mental health and therapy within the Black community, I'm committed to creating a safe and informative space for all clients. How many times have you heard the phrase "just pray about it"? Let's work together to heal and destigmatize mental health within the African-American community, one session at a time.
