ABOUT ME:
As a therapist, I’m honored to be a part of my client’s process. I see therapy as a collaboration. I partner with a client to create a moment together that promotes healing and growth, and my first goal is to provide a non-judgmental, accepting, and affirming space.
With years of experience practicing in social services and as a therapist, I understand that to grow and heal we must not only process our personal histories and struggles, but also recognize the oppressive systems that undermine our well-being, and then work to dismantle their influence on our perspective. As a white, cis, gay man I strive to cultivate an antiracist and anti-oppressive practice.
I work with a wide variety of adults, of various ages and backgrounds, who want to process sadness, shame, grief, loss, anxiety, and/or manage the myriad of challenges that arise as we walk through life, longing to live as our true self and be known.
My approach is eclectic, person-centered, trauma informed, and strengths based. You are the expert of your life and experience. You’re using skills you may not realize you have, and during our time together we will celebrate those skills, fine tune them, and develop new ones for your journey forward. I draw on multiple modalities including CBT, affective therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness. I believe our body, mind, and spirit are interactive and attending to all three categories creates a synergy that gives us the tools to live fully.
I look forward to collaborating with you to develop a structure that works for you.
