ABOUT ME:
I am a Licensed Social Worker specializing in providing services to people dealing with life transitions, and those working to survive and thrive, following trauma, anxiety, depression and other oppressive life events and conditions. In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a professor of social work, teaching both Bachelor’s and Master’s Level students. I received my MSW from Loyola University of Chicago’s School of Social Work. I am currently completing a doctoral program and I am at the "tail end" of my dissertation, exploring the relationship between the imposter syndrome and mentorship with faculty women of color in higher education.
In addition to the above, I integrate holistic wellness practices to compliment traditional practices and provide a more well-rounded therapeutic experience. My areas of specialization and interest are in working with individuals experiencing traumatic stress as well as those who struggle with everyday life challenges. I also have experience working with youth through emerging adulthood with familial trauma, dysfunction, and relationship issues, as well as extensive experience working with adults, children and families that have experienced a mental health crisis
It is essential for me to explore approaches and methods that best fit the needs of the person with whom I am working, and I collaborate with each person to determine the best approach for them.
